Considering my personal rules for Poem-a-Day writing prompted me to think about my more general guiding principles for writing. I didn’t get very far.
- Fail. Fail again. Fail better. –Samuel Beckett
- It’s a poem if I say it is.
- The thing’s hollow. It goes on forever. My god, it’s full of stars. –Dave Bowman
- Listen, listen, listen.
- The form is always the measure of the obsession. –Alberto Giacometti
I’ll have to figure it out as I go along. Come to think of it, that’s a pretty sound rule too.
So glad you are back to blogging. Perhaps someday I will do the same.
Props for the fraggle rock quote, my dude
